COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
City Info

Established in 1851, just five years after Iowa was admitted to the Union as the first free state in the Lousiana Purchase, Osceola began a pattern of growth that was to continue through the 19th and 20th centuries. Currently an estimated 4,500 people call Osceola home.

The City of Osceola is a progressive community, the shining star of Southern Iowa. A full range of services enhances the community provided by proactive government, independent business and experienced health care professionals. The backbone of the community is the people. Regardless of the type of merchandise or service you may be looking for, you'll find it in Osceola, and you'll be greeted with a warm, friendly smile from people who care and are willing to "go the extra mile" to help you -- the customer.
